Because we are talking about in the world the types of pets can ran range from a cat or dog to a giraffe or elephant. To the owners of these animals they are not just pets, but members of their family. Considering these animals are looked after as if they were children; would you like for your child to be a test dummy for products of cosmetic and military supply? Thesechanges were crucial to bring about the Nazi ideology in Germanys youngand old population. The changes of German life between the years 1933 to1939 were largely the product of the introduction to propaganda, rearmingof Germany, and the creation of different Nazi party organizations. The concept of Propaganda was not new to the German population. Inthe First World War, Germans were displayed posters of ravenous Britishsoldiers, only interested in conquest and control. In the modern world ofthe thirties, propaganda had taken a major leap from the printed word, tothe spoken and visualized word. The entire basis of the Nazi idealsdepended primarily on propaganda. In the years following the appointing ofHitler as Chancellor, the then small and radical Nazi party was hangingby the small thread of propaganda. The party officials created poster withslogans attacking the Weimar Republic, political opponents, and theCommunist Party. Nazi propaganda was the brainchild of Doctor JosephGoebbels, a failed writer and a fanatical Nazi. His first major goal wasthe persuasion of the German people to support the Nazi party. The Naziparty had done poorly even the early thirties, and required a suprememajority to take control of the Reichstag and eventually the whole nation. After Hitler was appointed Chancellor in 1933, he quickly appointedGoebbels Minister of National Enlightenment and Propaganda. Goebbelsresponsibilities no longer consisted of small party rallies and primitiveposters; he was able to expand into the area of radio and film. All ofGermanys radio stations became under the Ministrys direct control, andthe Ministry quickly developed new methods for expanding the Nazipropaganda. The Ministry created new companies to mass-producewirelesses, at affordable prices so all German families could have aradio. A Nazi film enthusiast club was created, providing film andequipment to local hobbyists to film local Nazi rallies and glorify villageaccomplishments. These two new types of propaganda were critical in thesurvival of the Nazi dictatorship for the near future; however, the classicrally still was one of the most spectacular. At the 1936 Olympics inMunich, the organization was centred on propaganda. This was Germanys timeto shine. The Olympics was a superb success. Visiting countries wereimpressed by German hospitality and redevelopment. Adolf Hitler was shownas a quaint intelligent man with exciting solutions to the worldsproblems1 German athletes won the most medals, and were rarelychallenged by other competition. Every August in Nuremburg, a mass rallywas held in the city to celebrate the cleansing of the old uselessdemocracy and the creation of the Nazi Reich. In one rally, 100,000 men,all three quarters of a metre apart, marched triumphantly past Hitler, withthe troops carrying 32,000 blood-red flags with the new emblem of theGerman Reich, the Swastika. None of these mass rallies could be carried outwith out the full participation of the largest military in the world, theGerman armed forces. Following Hitlers arrival as Chancellor in 1933, he was faced with amassive economic depression and severe unemployment. Hitler decided to usethis to his advantage, not only politically, but militarily. A new Ministerof Economy was installed, Hjalmar Schacht, a man who had stopped theexponentially increasing inflation of the early 20s. He called for theemployment of hundred of thousands of men on new public works projects, themightiest of which was the new Autobahn, a span of highways across Germany,which had the hidden use of allowing military logistics to travel acrossthe nation with molecular efficiency and lighting speed. This was not theprinciple creation of jobs in Germany. Re-armament of the German militarywas on the top of Hitlers goals. In March 1935, Adolf Hitler announced thecreation of a new army, a new conscripted one of strong men and intelligentscientists. He saw the expansion of Germanys limited army to a militarywith modern aircraft, mighty battle-ships, and the most efficient army inthe world. Against the Treaty of Versailles, he created the Luftwaffe, anew German air force to be equipped with modern German fighters and mightybombers. He smashed the tonnage rules set by the allies and beganconstruction of mighty battle-ships, and even more deadly advanced U-Boats(Submarines). With the introduction of conscription in 1935, no man wasdenied work, and the German Wehrmacht grew to over a million men, notincluding those belonging to the SS or Gestapo. The introduction of new-steel mills and creation of synthetic materials allowed German industry tobegin construction of new armaments and vehicle. Tanks, first introduced ascumbersome slow machines of little use in WWI, became modern, fast, anddeadly weapons under the German name of Panzer. Factories once dedicated tothe creation of small tools such as shovels and axes were turned into smallarms factories, where they began construction of new submachine guns, basedentirely on a new method of manufactu re utilizing metal pressing andstamping. Small automobile companies were set under control of Volkswagen,a company once dedicated to creating affordable vehicles and now taskedwith the construction of armoured personnel vehicles and trucks. A wholenew industry was born in Germany, Aviation. For the first time, aircraftwere constructed in a similar manner to automobiles, utilizing an assemblyline and common parts. Despite the negative connotations toward the Nazis in this period ofhistory, German life was still of great expansion and growth. Using four data series i.e Ret-Close, Ret-Open, Flipping Ratio and Mid-to-Offer, we will calculate descriptive statistical figures for each set of IPOs (Directors and Fund clients). Return-to-Open Data Series The return-to-open is defined as the change in price of IPO from offering price to the opening day trade price. The higher percentage change from offering to open day trade price represents that IPO is hot. Using the statistical data in Exhibit 1, following can be inferred: * The IPOs allocated to directors have a mean 34.2% with a standard deviation (read: risk) of 16.7%. As compared to IPOs allocated to fund clients where the mean appreciation in the price is 22.7% with a standard deviation of 19.3%. It clearly indicates that IPOs allocated to directors have higher returns with low risk attached to them. * Similarly, minimum and maximum price appreciation for the IPOs allocated to directors was 12.5% and 68.8% respectively. While minimum and maximum price for IPOs allocated to fund clients were 0% and 69.4% that represents that the range is much wider for IPOs allocated to fund clients. * Comparing both percentages with the overall percentages shows that IPOs allocated to directors appreciates 9% more as compared to 3% for IPOs allocated to clients on day 1. * Other statistics such as sample variance and skewness also lead us to believe that Monetta allocated hot IPOs to its directors and cold IPOs to fund. Flipping Ratio Data Series The term Flipping ratio indicates block of 10,000 shares sold on the day 1 of IPOs trading. It reflects whether the investor consider the share to yield long-term gains. If the flipping ratio is low which means that the investor consider it best IPOs in terms of long-term investment. Based on this ratio and using the series of statistical analysis in Exhibit 2, we conclude that: * For the period in question, the average Flipping ratio was 19.0% for the IPOs allocated to director/both, 29.5% allocated to fund client, and 26.7% for all IPOs. * Another important measure that proves that Monetta allocated best IPOs to its directors is Median. The median for IPOs allocated to directors was 17.4% as compared to 24.3% for IPOs allocated to fund clients. Mid-to-Offer Data Series The Mid-to-Offer is a good indicator for the hot IPOs. It highlights the change in IPOs issue price from the mid-point of the filing range to the offering price. The higher change in the percentage of Mid-to-Offer price from its initial filing range proves that shares are most likely to be above average performers in the secondary market trading. Based on the calculation as shown in Exhibit 3, we see that: * The Mid-to-Offer change for 13 IPOs allocated to directors was 21.9%, while for 37 IPOs allocated to fund clients the Mid-to-Offer change was 10.1%. Since the information of changes in Mid-to-Offer price is available before the trading of share begins, therefore any well informed investor can easily deduct the level of demand or in other word interest level of potential buyers. * The range (max and min) is especially a good measure to determine the Mid-to-Offer change. Looking at the ranges for IPOs allocated to director which was from 0% to 60% and IPOs allocated to fund clients which was -27.3% to 80, it is safe to conclude that Monetta knowingly allocated best IPOs to its directors because of the reason stated above. The change in the price for IPOs allocated to directors does not fall below 0%., while for 10 IPOs out of 37 IPOs allocated to fund clients the Mid-to-Offer price becomes negative. All of the above analysis leads us to believe that there is statistical significant inference that Monetta deliberately, willfully and consistently allocated IPOs that had, or appeared to have had, the highest probability of earning the best returns with the minimum possible risk. The management of Monetta knew well in advance about the chances of any particular IPO of giving highest return because of there knowledge about that IPO, since they attend all of the meetings organized by the underwriters to market their IPOs. Also, these statistics proves that there is a high probability that the result did not occur by chance. Similarly, individual analysis of Return-to-Open, and Flipping Ratio produce positively correlated results as shown in Exhibit 4. As shown the correlation for IPOs allocated is -0.675 as compared to -0.684 for IPOs allocated to clients. Legal Analysis The statistical analysis proved beyond doubt that Monetta distributed IPOs to its directors that were hot, therefore violated a number of SEC laws and its fiduciary responsibilities. The Monetta management was fiduciaries of the company. A fiduciary duty is a duty to act for someone elses benefit, while subordinating ones personal interests to that of the other person1. By deliberately and willfully allocating hot IPOs to its directors the management of Monetta did not upheld the highest standard of duty implied by law. More specifically, the Monetta management violated following SEC laws2: Section 17(a) of Securities Act and Section 10(b) of Exchange Act and Rule 10b-5 Section 17(a) of Securities Act and Section 10(b) of Exchange Act and Rule 10b-5 prohibits any person in the offer, purchase, and sale of any security in interstate commerce or by use of the mails: (1) to employ any device, scheme, or artifice to defraud, or (2) to obtain money of any untrue statement of material fact or any omission of a material fact necessary so as not to mislead, or (3) to engage in any transaction, practice, or course of business which would operate as fraud or deceit upon the purchase. The statistical analysis proves that Monetta willfully violated the antifraud provisions of the securities statutes because each knowingly or recklessly omitted to inform Fund shareholders and prospective shareholders of the conflict of interest caused by the allocation to the directors of hot IPOs by Monetta. The Old Barn Having a special place is like having an invisible friend. It means the world to you, but nothing to the guy next door. It is not so often I get an opportunity to sit down and really see what is out there. I am able to sit in my special area in total peace and quiet for as long as I choose to do so. Anyone with noisy roommates knows just what I am talking about. Peace and quiet with kids in the house is extremely limited and you will usually do anything to be able to enjoy the silence. Having a place of my own is very special. It allows me to do the vast amounts of activities that I am not able to do in normal everyday life such as reading, thinking, and just being alone. I always go to a special barn when I want time to myself. No one ever knows I am out there and wouldn't even think about coming there to look for me because it is so dirty and old. The barn is quite a good distance away from the house. Making it even more secluded and empty. I can't hear or see any of my relatives from the window in the ban, which is an extra bonus for me. As I look at my barn I can tall it is very old and very run down. it hardly gets used and is full of old tractors. Relatives, now, that says a lot right there. Yes, I have them too. Those really nice relatives that tease me all the time because they still feel like I am just a little brat because I am so much younger then them. Those uncles that still talk to me like I just popped out of my mother's stomach. This is always and will always be a great reason for me to leave any area where anyone related to me happens to be. If you are in my shoes you are stuck in the middle of all of your relatives. Half of them are five or more years older then... ...communication between me and any other humans. This is my time, I do not have to live by the statement "you are on my time now", because this is my time and only my time. I can act as I please , think as I please, and be who I please. For this one single moment in time when I am in my special place I can go by my own rules. It is almost like for once you are your own boss and you live in your own little world, ruling just yourself. These are the reasons why I need my special place. Without a place to go I would probably have an ulcer. I believe that everyone needs a place to go to get away from it all. It is an opportunity to explore a new and unique world all of my own. I can enjoy activities that I once got to enjoy when I was a kid, I can think through all the problems in my head, and most of all, I can get away from those people who give me the ulcer.

FTF can definitely capitalize on this emerging trend since the online grocery shopping experience is primarily fueled by a needs-driven experience since there are a greater variety of options available online. In addition, e-commerce allows for smaller companies such as FTF to compete against â€Å"Big Brand† companies since the big brand physical advantages become nonexistent and opens up the opportunity to create a niche brand for customers who prefer to buy their food and groceries online. The profile of typical online shoppers is as follows: single or dual-income households with no children and are technically savvy, affluent, and time poor. This group consists of early adopters of new technology and is heavy internet users who regularly purchase goods online. Convenience is a main factor for this group and they have little to no concern about product price or delivery charges. The other major category within this market is families with young children. Similar to the previously discussed category, this category includes single parents, dual-income households, middle-income and above average-earning households. The key differentiator is that this category has one or more children, typically with at least one child under the age of five years old. This group consists of adults in their late 20s to 40s. The individuals in this category turn to online grocery shopping because it saves them time, is less hectic, and overall more convenient in nature. Online Presence

Now that we have determined that moving into the online community is viable for us as a company, it is now time to continue the planning. We have discussed previously the strategic marketing tactics we will use and the way that we will use social media to ensure that we are ready to move forward. We will continue our planning and focus on the way that we will provide payment options for our customers. This will Include what tools they will use and how It will keep their information safe.We will also plan for ways to use search engines and how to gain optimization of their use. It will be vital to ensure that our name shows up in the result pages of the search engines. We will create a plan to reach the diverse culture that we live in, making our website accessible in a diverse consumer base. We will finish up by discussing our customer relationship management software that we will use on our website. Once these are finalized and decided on, we will be ready to move forward In the des ign phase of our website.This proposal will discuss and answer all of those questions and prepare us for design. Customer Payments We are creating a website that will allow our customers to be able to accomplish al of the needed functions of obtaining a storage unit or REV parking without having to come on property. The shopping cart allows the customers to store in their shopping cart those items they have want and to continue shopping for other things.Due to the limited number of items that we will be receiving payments for, an online shopping cart would not be necessary for us to achieve our goals. In making this choice on which payment options to use, we looked closely at ease f use for our customers and keeping their information safe and secure. Papal was chosen because of these considerations and ease of use for our customers. Papal will do all that we need it to do and is easy to use, free to set up, free for our customers. These features of Papal made it an ideal solution.Palsy's name and reputation was also a big consideration. A large amount of our customers have already used Papal, or at least will recognize the name. Having this knowledge of Papal will aide in helping them feel safe to use our online payment system. It will ink to our website and allow our customers to make paym ents without having to go to a different website to do this. They, of course, are our biggest stakeholders. With the help of this software we will be able to analyze where our customers are coming from and what resources are being used the most. We can see if email, social media, our newsletter and blobs are effective and how much business is generated by each of them. It will help us to put our efforts and resources into the most effective venue.On top of all of this is will give us the software to conduct our emails and chats and track and record them and where they were generated from. There is a cost of this software but it will more than pay for itself and has a high return on investment for us to be able to be most effective in our online approaches. The Trinity College liberal arts curriculum also reflects this unique pairing of the modern South and the global past. For example, I am considering a major in history, and am very interested in the combination of geographic and thematic areas of study offered by Duke’s history program. The combinations of areas offer seeming endless areas of specialization. One interesting possibility is a focus in the geographic area of the U.S. and Canada, combined with a thematic study of Women and Gender or African Diaspora. By juxtaposing and intertwining these two foci, my understanding of the American South - and much more - would be greatly enriched. This i nnovative and flexible approach to both traditional and non-traditional subject matter is greatly appealing to me. I know by reputation and from a friend currently enrolled in Trinity College that the liberal arts curriculum is very challenging, but also rewarding. I believe I am more than prepared for these challenges, and that I will thrive in this climate. Duke University’s campus already feels like home; I believe that its academic opportunities will also provide a stimulating environment in which I feel I belong. Critique of the Supplemental Essay First, think about the prompt. The admissions officers want to know if there is something in particular at Duke that makes the applicant want to go there. A bad essay never discusses features that are unique to Duke. A good essay gets specific and shows particular knowledge of the school. The sample essay succeeds on this front. Although the essay is just a paragraph long, the author presents three specific features of Duke that make her want to attend: The attractive campus with its Gothic and Southern appealThe flexible nature of the history curriculumThe fact that she has a friend at Duke This last point doesnt matter much in the admissions process and the writer was correct to mention it only indirectly. The first point has moderate importance. Many colleges have impressive Gothic architecture, so the feature isnt unique to Duke. However, the writer connects the campus to her own Southernness. She also demonstrates that she has visited the campus, something that is not true of many applicants who haphazardly apply to a long list of prestigious schools. The second point about the history curriculum is key to this essays success. This applicant knows what lies beneath the universitys surface. She has clearly researched the curriculum. She is not applying to Duke simply because of its beauty or its reputation, but because she likes how the university approaches learning. Avoiding Supplemental Essay Mistakes In general, the author has avoided common  supplemental essay mistakes and written an effective response to the universitys prompt. Admissions officers will certainly take note of the fact that this applicant has done some research and has thoughtful reasons for wanting to attend Duke. If your supplemental essay to the question asking Why Our School? could be applied to numerous schools, you have failed to respond to the prompt effectively. This is not the place to be generic or lazy. Do your research, and articulate the unique reasons why the school is a good match for your interests, personality, and goals. Substantially, not much but as we all know on some level, the exchange of currency for goods and services is more about the style than the substance. Savvy merchants have blurred the distinction in the interests of encouraging business by conferring prestige on potential purchasers. First, word origins: Customer’s root word, custom, ultimately derives from the Latin verb consuescere, â€Å"to accustom,† and the sense of a person who buys something from another perhaps stems from the idea of purchasing as being a habit. Client (the plural can be clients or clientele) also comes from Latin, in the form of clientem, â€Å"follower,† which may be related to the root word of incline. This sense persists in the phrase â€Å"client state,† referring to a nation dependent on another for security or other support. The two terms have traditionally differed widely in usage: A customer is simply a recipient of products or services in exchange for money. Even though the relationship to the provider might be long lasting, the sense is of discrete exchanges. By contrast, a client is engaged in a more qualitative relationship in which the provider generally applies professional skills to offer often intangible commodities such as legal services, insurance policies, and the like. (Another distinction is that a customer is more likely to visit a retail establishment, whereas a client may more easily receive services without being physically present at the place of business. The escalation of mail-order business spurred by online retailing, however, has blurred this distinction.) Because of the greater perceived value associated with provision of professional services, businesses not normally classified as providers of such have taken to referring to their customers as clients. Technically, there’s nothing wrong with that; why shouldn’t an auto mechanic refer to people with car trouble as clients rather than customers? As I mentioned above, it’s all about the prestige: A streetwalker services customers, but an escort sees clients. Synonyms for customer and client are available, but they have their limits: A buyer is someone who pays for something, but the word also refers to someone employed by or otherwise associated with a company who purchases things wholesale to later be sold as is or as part of a retail product by that company. Patron is more limited in connotation than customer or client; it generally refers to someone purchasing an aesthetic experience such as a performance or a meal rather than carting items from a shelf to a checkout stand. It also applies, however, to a supporter (as in â€Å"a patron of the arts†) or a guardian (as in â€Å"a patron saint†). Guest is an elegant way to describe someone acquiring lodging or otherwise remaining on the business premises for an extended time but seems pretentious for other usages. Meanwhile, consumer seems too impersonal and is best reserved for referring, in singular or plural form, to connote a typical person who buys products or services or the general public in that role. Other synonyms such as user (or â€Å"end user†) are highly specific to technological products and services, and yet others are clunky (purchaser, vendee) or describe someone on the way to becoming a customer or client but not yet there (prospect, shopper). Investment of money in the industries of the country, thus, suffers and it undergoes a period where its economy has to struggle to make ends meet. This has been the case with Uganda, a country that has some of the most exciting wildlife parks and tourist destinations in the whole of the African continent. Despite this wealth of natural beauty and the enormous range of opportunities for adventurous tourism, Uganda has not been a favored tourist destination for a very long time and one of the primary reasons for this has been the civil wars that have rocked this country. Tourism as an industry relies heavily on the presence of infrastructure that serves to provide maximum comfort to the visitors. The safety of the tourists who visit is also of paramount importance to the sustenance of any tourism industry. This paper shall seek to explore the reasons as to why Uganda as a nation has not been able to channelize the potential that it has and the role that the domestic crises over a period of time has played in the decline f the tourism industry in Uganda. One may think that long years of violence since the times of Idi Amin may have caused the people of Uganda to sink into a state of apathy and not participate in any political process that might happen in the country. This, however, is not true. Christopher Blattman, in his essay, From Violence to Voting: War and Political Participation in Uganda, talks of how an increase in violence has actually led to a rise in the percentages of voting in Uganda during elections. Areas where abductions of men had taken place witnessed a high percentage of voting. Blattman’s interactions with members of the community proved that violence in these areas, especially instances of political violence, led to an increased political awareness among the people of these areas. This was partially due to an urge in the members of the community to see change in the manner in which governance was carried out. The basic element that is needed in any society for positive change and for the success of democracy is the will of the people. In Uganda, this seems to be in place. Blattman exudes an optimistic confidence in his essay regarding the will of the people to change the political situation of their nation, something that would enable the establishment of a cordial atmosphere for the revival of the tourism industry (Blattman). The extreme anxiety of the people is also revealed through this hope for a government that is democratically elect ed; an anxiety that reveals the slump that industries undergo during a period of civil war. It is probably the fear of such a loss to their means of livelihood (tourism generated revenues constitute a major chunk of the revenue that the Ugandan economy generates) that impels them to seek refuge in the process of democracy. However, the government of Uganda does not seem as keen as the
